Lamb Saag Curry with Basmati Rice

A combination of two absolute classic dishes! Saag Meat is created by combining saag sabji with lamb curry. This recipe was passed down to me by my grandmother, who was born in the pre-independence Punjab region of India, where this dish originated. Lamb and spinach a simmered with freshly ground spices to give it its distinct flavour. Served with ghee rice.

A bit spicy 🌶.

A nice meal, but not a great one.

I have to confess to being a little disappointed with this meal. Whilst it was reasonably spicy, the overall flavour was good not great. Perhaps I expected too much after all the great meals I've had from Home Cooks.

The problem was that the lamb was not particularly tasty, which is where I think the meal fell down. I therefore have given this 4/5 stars, as you cannot give half stars, otherwise it would have been 3.5.
If this is the fault of the lamb, then more attention needs to be paid to the quality of the meat, if not then the recipe needs to be revisited.
