How does the subscription HomeCooks box work?
Our HomeCooks box allows you to have a regular delivery of incredible chef-made dishes, so you don't have to constantly think about grocery shopping! Choose as many dishes as you want from our full menu, change your delivery frequency, pause or cancel at any time. And with new chefs and dishes added each week, you'll never have to eat the same thing twice (unless you want to!).
Simply reheat the food in under 10 minutes, and voila! Our skilled independent chefs have done all the hard work for you, making mealtime hassle-free.
Why do you freeze the food?
We are passionate about creating sustainability within the food industry, which includes minimising food waste. When you order our dishes frozen they will last a long time in your freezer, giving you extra flexibility and reducing any unnecessary food waste.
Does freezing affect the dishes?
Not at all. Our chefs are super talented and have perfected these dishes to make sure that they are as tasty pre-freezing as they are post-freezing. We also freeze the food as soon as it's been made when it's at peak freshness. The freezing method also means that no preservatives are added!
What happens if I order my food chilled?
When you select 'chilled' our smart packaging allows for a slow defrost during the delivery to your doorstep. Please note, that if your delivery arrives a bit earlier in the day, your food may not be fully defrosted. If this is the case, please place in the fridge for a few hours and it should be ready for your evening meal. Our chilled food cannot be re-frozen.
Where are the ingredients sourced from?
Ultimately it's up to our chefs to decide, but we strongly suggest they should source locally and seasonally. All our chefs are passionate about high quality ingredients and produce.
What food safety checks are there?
All chefs need to provide proof of a level two food safety certificate and have registered their kitchen with their local council.
This means that all our chefs in our communities have the same legal requirements and responsibilites as any traditional food business.
Where do I find the re-heating instructions?
All dishes will come with a QR code on their label. Just scan the QR code to be taken directly to the re-heating instructions. Or if you prefer you can find all re-heating instructions on the website on the specific dish page.
How can I get in contact with the HomeCooks team?
We love talking to you! You can chat to us using out live messenger which can be found on the right corner of your screen.

Your Delivery Questions Answered
Where do we deliver to?
We deliver across the whole of the UK, excluding the highlands of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
What days do you deliver?
You choose the day you would like your food delivered at checkout. We can deliver on any, Monday Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
How does my food arrive?
We can deliver your food frozen or chilled. The dishes can be re-heated, normally in under 10 minutes in 1-2 simple steps.
All our chefs cook their meals in small batches which we then freeze. This locks in the quality, nutrition and most importantly, stops any food waste.

What time will my food be delivered?
On the morning of delivery you will receive an email and a text message with a 1 hour time slot. At this point you can request that your order is left in a space or with a neighbour if you are not in.
Can I know a bit more about the packaging?
All orders are kept frozen or chilled for up to 48 hours in our specially designed thermally insulated box. It is the best packaging on the market for keeping food safe and cold. All packing is fully recyclable and/or compostable.
What happens if I order from more than one chef?
If you order from multiple chefs, all your food will arrive on the same day in one delivery box, with one delivery fee - it's the best food service in the world.
Can I get free delivery?
We offer free delivery on orders over £50 for Subscribers, otherwise delivery is £3.99.
One time orders under £20 will have a £5.99 small order cost attached
Is there anything else I should know?
Not really about HomeCooks, but fun fact: There are more trees on Earth than stars in the Milky Way. Mind. Blown.
