Meet Eleanor

Since I was old enough to hold a spoon, food has been my greatest passion and my main joy in life. Over the years, I have documented my life through food, writing holiday diaries memorialising not what we did or where we went, but what we ate. For me, food is the epitome of finding excitement and joy in the everyday. That excitement is what gets me out of bed in the morning and is what I want to share with others. Not too long ago I quit my job to pursue a career in food, my long-term relationship ended, and I began living by myself. I found myself not wanting to cook for myself due, in part, to tiresome and unappetising leftovers and the seemingly endless mountains of washing-up. I realised that one-portion recipes weren’t enough, they had to be one-pot too. Though I created the series for myself initially, I started sharing the recipes online too. The response was truly overwhelming, and showed me just how many people out there are in the same predicament, and that we all want to eat well!

Good in parts

I liked the beef bourguignon though there wasn’t a lot of it (and one small carrot and one button mushroom); but was disappointed with the mashed potato which though buttery couldn’t hide the taste of reconstituted dried potato

This dish is really lovely. Creamy buttery mash and beautiful beef. There could have been a little more beef, and a little small but tastes beautiful
