OVEN: Preheat oven to 160°C (Gas Mark 5). Remove any outer packaging, place the tray in the oven and bake for 30-35 mins at 160°C until piping hot and golden brown.

OVEN: Preheat oven to 160°C (Gas Mark 5). Remove any outer packaging, place the tray in the oven and bake for 55-60 mins at 160°C until piping hot and golden brown.

Lidgates Butchers has been in operation since 1850 and our family have always sold pies in the shop. We use recipes that have been passed down over the decades, refining them here and there as tastes have changed but our core principles have always remained the same: the best quality ingredients treated with care and attention will produce excellent pies.

A bit of a letdown

I was very much looking forward to getting this dish.
I followed the instructions but when I was ready to eat it I found that the base and the lower part of the sides of the pie were completely raw!!
Very disappointing.

Great Pie

Really enjoyed this as a basis for Sunday lunch with leftovers for Monday lunch. The asparagus was a bit stringy but I guess this would not be an issue with seasonal fresh British asparagus; and plenty of chicken and sauce. Definitely one to come back to.
