Caribbean-Kitchen

I started cooking at the age of 9 when my mother didn't come home early enough one day and my brothers really needed to eat. I cooked tinned mackerel in tomato sauce and plain boiled rice - even my stepdad had it. I've worked in several restaurants over the years, this helped me to develop my skills. My husband saw my passion and found a place where we opened our first Caribbean restaurant. It's been 10 years and I still love it!

Nice!

Enjoyed this. The large portion was very large which was great. Not the biggest fan of the basmati rice with this dish though, a white or brown rice would work better in my opinion. But still really enjoyed.

Still a favourite

Prefer just peas to mixed veg but it’s just nice to have some there; otherwise the meal is good and tasty as ever and spicy but not too hot.

Delicious!

This was so tasty! Love the charcoal bbq flavour. Just the right amount of heat and spice. Will definitely order again - absolutely loved it!

Too dry

I liked the chicken but there was very little of it compared with the rice mix. The rice itself was almost inedible, being dry and tasteless. The vegetables mixed in had no individual taste.

New Recipe?

Not sure whether the recipe has changed subtly but I thought I detected a lemony edge which didn’t blend in very well. I also didn’t like the mixed veg addition - some extra green peas or corn is nice but not mixed veg.
