Lamb and Apricot Tagine with Chickpeas and Buttered Leeks

My modern take on the classic Moroccan tagine. Tender lamb shoulder slow-braised with warming spices - cinnamon, ginger, cumin, and saffron - until it melts off the fork. Earthy chickpeas soak up all those aromatic flavors, while silky buttered leeks add a subtle sweetness that perfectly balances the robust spices.
It's comfort food that travels - North African soul with European finesse.

Meet Lucia

With a Mexican mom and Italian dad, I spent a lot of time in each country during my childhood so I developed an appreciation for Mexican and Italian cuisines. Cooking is my true passion, and I find joy in playing with food at the intersection of Mexican and Italian tastes. I love receiving heartfelt comments about my meals and knowing that I've contributed to brightening someone's day, even with just a little bite.

Tasty But Not Complete?

This was very nice indeed. I enjoyed the lamb tagine and also the leeks and chickpeas sides but I couldn’t help thinking it needed something else? It seemed a bit rich and needs rice or some form of bread to eat with it. I dipped pieces of buttered soughdough bread. Would definitely have it again in future

Rich & Tender!

The lamb was rich & tender, leeks tasty & extra chickpeas very welcome!
A low carb dish, so good for diabetics!
The ingredients info says minced beef!
No breakdown of calories/carbs so difficult to know how much diabetes medication to take.
I like the new packaging. But is the plastic lid supposed to go in the microwave? It doesn't say, either on app or on packaging?

Ok

Slightly too bitter a taste for me. Considering it has apricot, I thought it would be sweeter. Chick peas were fairly nice. Lamb was tender but only 3 small pieces, doesnt quite make it a 'lamb' tagine for me.

The lamb was cooked to perfection—tender and succulent—accompanied by a sauce that was rich, complex, and impeccably balanced.
