Feijoada with Sweet Potato Mash and Spiced Vegetables

My Feijoada is a hearty Brazilian black bean stew simmered with tender cuts of pork and smoky sausage, creating deep layers of flavour. I serve it alongside fragrant jasmine rice that perfectly absorbs the rich sauce. The dish is complemented by seasonal vegetables roasted until caramelised, adding brightness and texture to balance the savoury stew. Each component honours traditional technique while bringing my own personal touch to this beloved classic.

Flavourful and interesting

The meat was nice and spicy and very tender, and the beans added a good texture too. The rice was simple but very well cooked, and the veg had retained a good texture.

Not A Favourite

Sorry but in addition to the meal being very dry the roast vegetables were a bit bland and I didn’t like the flavour of the pork and black beans which I found very bitter. Wouldn’t be on my regular reorder list I’m afraid.

Nice texture but a bit bland

This reheated well but the overall flavour was quite bland. Could have done with better seasoning.
