Meat Moussaka

This is a hearty and comforting Greek classic. It's made up of layered seasoned beef, eggplant, and a creamy béchamel sauce. The meat is cooked with tomatoes, onions, garlic and various spices. Then, the sliced eggplant is sautéed and layered with the meat mixture in a baking dish. Finally, a velvety béchamel is poured over the top and sent off to bake until the eggplant is tender and the sauce is hot and bubbly.

Not quite like a Moussaka I'm used to

The dish had a good texture and was a good portion size.
It didn't deliver in flavour and I didn't think it worked with the beef mince. I was expecting it to be made with lamb. Disappointing.

A lovely meeting and flavoursome mousakka. Really enjoyed this with a Greek salad. Good portion size.


Gokces moussaka is great! Generous portion size, delicious bechamel, and just overall YUM! Found our frozen ones needed more time in the oven than stated- but didn’t mind, as it’s well worth the wait.
